Masters Degree Program in Applied physics

The Department faculty members are all active in research, with on-campus laboratories in Nanotechnology, Photonics, Computational Physics, and Robotics. Department faculty also have ongoing work at leading national facilities such as Brookhaven National Lab and Kitt Peak National Observatory. Research interests of the faculty encompass areas as diverse as physics education, materials science, quantum phenomena, astrophysics, fiber optics, and high-temperature superconductivity. Many of the research activities in the Department are funded with external research grants. The Physics faculty are also actively involved in public outreach, including work to promote science education in Connecticut public schools and other activities. If you are curious about how the universe works, if you like to tinker and explore, if you get a charge out of solving problems, then you are interested in Physics. Come discover the beauty and power of the foundation science at Southern!
